New picture posting format

So, the way I was posting images did not make Erin all smiley, so I wrote some code to generate galleries automagically... welcom to the first auto-gen gallery, it is basically a re-posting for the last 34 images from the previous post :-p

But we have about half of it done...

I took the kids there and they played in the mud;) You will find that many of this set of pics have Kane, Roan, and Erin in them... There was a tragedy when Kane's shoe got stuck in the mud and he walked right out of them... pics of Erin extracting them included;)

Digging is beginning;)

so we got the permits and of course, it starts raining;) But we got about half the digging done... Erin went and took pics at the beginning so here are three. The trees that needed to be cleared are gone now too... so that's good... also, we are on rock, which is of course great! All that's left is another 5' deep and this part is done... with a little luck on the weather tomorrow... we may get the forms for the footing down by the end of the day tomorrow... rock on.

OK, the lot is marked now... both the boundaries and the outside edges of the house... we are ready to dig, but waiting on the permit from the city... hopefully that will come this week so we can get going... here are a bunch of pics of the lots with flags in place.

Pictures of the Lot (pre dig)

I thought I would put some pics of the lot before any clearing/cleaning/digging was done…  There at the back you can see the trees and the stream bed way at the back… we don’t own all that property of course, it is a state tree-reserve, so no houses will ever be built back there.  There are some power lines and a cell tower in the distance back there, but that’s ok;)Pic of the lot from street

So, here is the finalized blue print.
I left the images big so they would be somewhat readable.

The house is in Raven's Crest...   The attached image is a site map with our lot (41 in Raven's, which is the 41 at the bottom, not the top) circled... very exciting

Building a house

I have ALWAYS wanted to build a house... so now we ARE!!  We put the money down... signed the papers... so here we go.  We have to blueprints finalized and the lot purchased...  postings here... hopefully at least weekly;)

We interviewed many builders and looked at many example houses and decided on Dusty Rhodes Homes and are building out of their Freedom Homes Series.  We are currently working with Rocky... he and his sister now run the company, their father has mostly retired.  He has been great so far, and we will keep you all updated of course.
